You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day, and that's the way baseball is.”

— Bob Feller

Baseball started with my father, in Monterrey, MX - 1970s

My father is the oldest of six brothers - two short of a team. My father, being the oldest, wanted to learn everything he could to be the best coach for his brothers. They had dirt fields, re-stitched gloves, playing with what they could find. They had to learn how to make do with what they had, while still having fun!

But, he always says, he wouldn’t change a thing.

Skipping Ahead - After a few years in the U.S, my father met my mother, had me and my two brothers. My father instilled baseball into us starting very young. The major difference, he wanted us to have “the best of the best” and every opportunity to make it in ball.

As kids, we didn’t understand why we had take ground balls after practice, clean all our gear, be at the field hours early before a game. But, baseball isn’t just a game, it's a way of life.

I started to see the hard work pay off as I was given the opportunity to play at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, CA. Receiving two D1 CCS titles and in 2008, we were ranked 5th in State and 29th Nationally.

My Valley career took me to receive a sports scholarship at California State University, Monterey Bay in 2012. That same year, my younger brother was picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks as a catcher.

In 2013, as a CSUMB Otter we won a CCAA league title and soon after I got “THE CALL” and was signed by the Tampa Bay Rays! I can say, it was the time of my life. It was baseball all day, everyday.

Once my career in baseball ended, I knew baseball would always be a big part of mine and my family’s life.

We are still heavily involved in local baseball from Coaching at Valley, private lessons,
to Mitts Glove Restoration.

Baseball is a way of life, my whole life…
